Preparation and Revision Report

Postby Gopalakrishnan N » June 23rd, 2016, 11:24 am

Good Morning Sir
Happy to mail you Sir! My preparations are going well sir!
I am confident in the following subjects
1. Modern India 2. Indian Polity 3. Environment 4. Geography
5. Ancient and Medieval History (to an extend) 6. Economics

Science and Technology not yet completed.

Now trying to work out with Aptitude and Current affairs sir. The sad thing is still my revisions are not over and not able to take any full portion model exam. I felt taking model exam without full preparation may end up with disappointment so still revising sir. Not able to find any active aspirants in and around Sathyamangalam, if I would have got someone really active with me surely the preparations would have reached to the fullest. Preparing alone is more time consuming especially during revisions and current affairs part.

Job schedule is just peaking up like anything sir. Still I am Gifted to be a Teacher as it helps me a lot in preparations. My maths faculty is helping me in aptitude and find different types of support from my colleagues. I try to manage 5 to 6 hours for my revision and preparation without affecting any of my school works.

I ringed "Sathya IAS Academy" in Erode they replied that no IAS coaching is conducted in erode branch at present and it is available only in their Chennai branch.

" Please share some ideas sir based on my level of preparation and my job cum preparation situation"

Dear Gopalakrishnan,

I am very happy with the effort you are taking now. This is good enough.
I couldn't believe that there is none you can partner with in Sathyamangalam.
There must be a lot of people seriously preparing in erode district, some
could be studying in your college too.
Last years IAS topper is Saravanan, he is from Sathyamangalam. You can
talk to him too. he write the exam in Tamil, even with optional subject
in tamil;.Saravanana mobile number is 9994622100.

Please message him and seek help. he is a very meritorious guy. he will
certainly help you .
ADORE YOUR LIFE.

Good Morning
Thank you so much Sir for giving me reference of Mr. Saravanan IAS

I contacted Mr. Saravanan IAS through message. He told that he will contact me by this week as he is now in Chennai.

I had mentioned a link below. The 15 days revision plan by Dr Roman Saini in UNacademy website. Hope it is useful for aspirants sir. Unacademy's Science and Technology and Current affairs revision videos are helpful for someone like me who not touched Science and Technology at all.

Feel confident with Prelim Paper 1 sir.

Good evening Sir
Sorry for the late reply sir. I didn't get selected in Prelims 2016 and I was 8 marks short from the BC cut off mark 108 (according to answer keys released by Sankar IAS Academy and Officer's IAS Academy). Bit disappointed but rectifying the mistakes i did in previous year preparations. I didn't give much scope for Current Affairs and its really uncertain 16 to 20 questions are from current affairs. Seeing previous years question papers I thought my preparations in Polity, Modern India, Geography and Environment , Culture may help me in clearing Prelims but didn't expect current affairs will constitute so much questions in 2016 prelims. So decided to concentrate more on current affairs on daily basis through The Hindu and Insight IAS current affair booklets.
Right now working with World History, Ethics and Integrity, International Relationships, Sociology and Geography in detail which are mainly asked in Mains exam.
I joined in Test series in Unique IAS Academy ,Coimbatore, writing both Mains and Prelims Test series.

Like to meet you Sir.

Thanking you for your kind concern and remembrance

Guidance and Motivation

Postby Gopalakrishnan N » September 18th, 2018, 12:57 pm

Respected Sir,

Happy Morning Sir,

First of all I would like to tell sorry for not replying to your post Sir, I had a login issue with the forum. Somehow after a long search I was able retrieve my password from my e-note. Happy to getting back into the forum.

I was not able to clear this attempt also sir, but in positive side me and 2 friends started coaching College / School students during week ends and also trying to form a study circle among the aspirants from rural areas. I saving part of my salary(working as school teacher in Saratha Institutions, Gobichettipalayam) to establish a Resource center where the aspirants from rural areas especially from my native place(Nilgiris) who are not having a good access with latest resources can make free use of it. One of my friend, an IAS aspirant will take care of the day to day matters in Ooty Resource center. I use my personal money to build a fund and help him to establish the resource center which can be used for not only upsc but for all other competitive examinations. Apart from books trying to provide e-sources with internet connections with test series of leading academies.

Sir, I like to get some guidance how can I handle my preparation at this part of time. I covered the static preliminary portions and current affairs are also updated in a regular basis, writing practice is also going fine sir. Now my problem is whether to go with mains preparation which I was doing after June'2018 or Preliminary preparation.

There was few suggestions like to cover the mains and optional portions till December, then can concentrate on Preliminary Examination portions. After getting failed in my 3rd attempt of CSE,I was not disappointed sir but trying to find out a better strategy and fasten my preparations. I myself nearing my 30 (age) matters more as a point of disadvantage in few places. What can I do Sir?
